Beaufort House

Beaufort House Access Statement

Our facilities have been upgraded to assist certain mobility impairments. Suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but who would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance.

Location

Beaufort House is situated within central London. It is located on a road with no steep gradient. The nearest mainline Railway Station is Victoria. We do not have our own car park. An on street marked Blue Badge bay is available on Beauchamp Place (Opposite number 29). This is located 300m away from our front entrance.

Access

The main entrance does not have a level access to the building as there are five shallow steps to the front entrance. The main doors open away from you (push). The doors are double width, with an opening that is 150cm wide.

The second entrance is equipped with a stair lift which allows step free access (on request) directly to reception/lobby of the property.

Reception

The reception desk is 8m (level access) from the front entrance. Lighting levels are bright. There is not a hearing assistance system. Background music is often played.

Lift Access

There are four steps (down) to the lift area. The steps are clearly marked and have handrails on both sides. There is also an alternative lifting platform for inside access of the building. It is wheelchair friendly and a member of staff may assist its use at all times.

All floors are accessible by the main lift and stairs, they are LG,G,1,2,3,4,5,6,7. The dimensions of the lift are 1.1m x 1.3m and weight capacity 630kg. The lighting level in the lift is bright and there is a visual floor indicator. It also has tactile markings and a mirror to aid reversing out. Staff do not need to be notified for use of the lift.

Lighting

The lighting levels are bright on all floor and apartments’ internal areas. All 1 Bedroom Apartments and 2 Bedroom Standard Apartment are single levelled. 2 Bedroom Superior, 3 Bedrooms and 4 Bedrooms Apartments are split levelled. There are up to seven deep steps between bedroom and common areas (kitchen, living room). These have single sided hand rails. The lighting levels at the steps are bright. Some apartments have walk in showers (please request when making your reservation). Bath mats can be provided. Deaf guard for use during your stay can also be provided upon request.

Assistance

Beaufort House members of staff will be pleased to assist you at all times. We will endeavour to accommodate any requests.
